Hono Kai is the perfect starting point for exploring the beauty and adventure of Maui due to its central location. With so much to do and see, there’s plenty of incentive to venture out and explore. Fortunately, returning to the third-floor Hono Kai condo, C-9 provides a quiet, tranquil retreat that feels like living in a tropical tree house.
The serene bedroom offers a comfortable king bed and an AC to help ensure a good night’s rest. A Shoji door links the bedroom to the living area, where you’ll find a sofa sleeper, a dining set, a flat-screen cable TV (complimentary), and high-speed internet WIFI (400mbps). The bathroom features a walk-in shower for freshness.
The fully-equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing meals that you can enjoy on the lanai. The unit also comes equipped with a Keurig machine and 12-cup coffee maker, although Keurig pods are not supplied.
Hono Kai is a delightful, beachfront complex that provides spectacular, sweeping views of the white, sandy coastline stretching south. From the white, sandy beaches and red Makena cinder cone to Ma’alaea Bay and Kahoolawe and Molokini isles, there is no shortage of breathtaking natural beauty to take in. From December to April, lucky visitors may be treated to a glimpse of Humpback Whales, who visit from Alaskan waters to have their calves. These magical creatures can be seen from the pool and the beachfront of the resort.
The grounds at Hono Kai are impeccably maintained, including the pool, barbecue station, lounge chairs, and on-site laundry facilities. Free parking is available for one vehicle per unit, although it’s important to note that there are no elevators. For those who enjoy walking, the 2.5-mile-long Sugar Beach is accessible at the end of the street via Haycraft Beach Park, and you can walk all the way to Kihei. The quaint Ma’alaea Village lies around half a mile west of Hono Kai and provides access to shopping, restaurants, the boat harbor, and the Maui Aquarium.
Hono Kai’s central location and tranquil, tropical atmosphere provide an ideal home base for visitors to Maui, whether they want to explore the island or curl up with a good book and enjoy the sound of the waves.

MA’ALAEA BAY RENTALS RENTAL AGREEMENT
Booking Rules:
A credit card is required to guarantee a reservation.
As renters, you are responsible for damages caused by you or your guests; these include damages to the unit, items within the unit (including towels and linens), and to common areas. We understand that accidents happen, so please let us know if any occur.
If, upon arrival, you notice any damages to your unit, please notify us immediately to avoid possible liability.
Supplies:
Your unit is supplied with a starter kit which includes laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, dish soap, trash bags, paper towels, tissues, and toilet tissue. Replace these on your own as you need them.
Your unit is also equipped with sufficient bath towels, beach towels, hand towels, dish towels and wash cloths.
For condos without in‐unit washer/dryers, please use the laundry facilities located at your particular resort.
Deposits/Cancellations
To confirm your stay, a non‐refundable deposit of $200 is due upon booking; and you are given the option to choose between either of the following:
1. $39.99 damage insurance (covering up to $3,000 of accidental damage)
2. $3,000 damage deposit (refunded 7‐10 business days after departure)
Final payment is due 30 days prior to your arrival date.
Cancellations made after initial deposit require a $200 cancellation fee.
Cancellations made after final payment are non‐refundable.
We do recommend travel insurance and can offer you options through Generali. If you are interested, please inquire with us before your final payment is due.
Deposits/Cancellations (Holiday Season: 12/15 – 01/05)
Reservations that arrive during our Holiday Season (12/15 ‐ 01/05) require a $500 deposit, and
Final payment is due within the first week of October.
Cancellations for Holiday Season reservations made before final payment require a $500 cancellation fee.
Cancellations made after final payment are non‐refundable.
We do recommend travel insurance and can offer you options through CSA Travel Protection. If you are interested, please inquire with us before your final payment is due.
Smoking:
All units are Non‐Smoking.
Designated smoking areas are available on all properties.
Any evidence of smoking within the unit or lanai area will result in charges, the minimum of which is $400.
Office Hours: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM; Monday – Friday.
Check In/Out:
Check‐In time is after 3:00 PM.
Check‐Out time is before 11:00 AM.
Late check‐outs are only available at the cost of a full night’s stay and must be arranged at the time of booking. Please contact Maalaea Bay Rentals at 1‐800‐367‐6084 or 808‐244‐5627 in advance so we can do our best to accommodate you.
